This is because Google has given you good rankings for being associated with sites – that is, web directories – which are popular and well-established.

More importantly, these web directories are human directory – meaning, they are not operated automatically with software without any human intervention. When you submit your site for registration in these free directory listing sites it will first be approved by the site administration. But this may take a few weeks to few months time, depending on the length of the pending site approval list.
